(I originally posted this in error on Hardware/Drivers) Device Manager (under Network Adapters) shows MS ISATAP disabled with 'Windows cannot load driver.(Code 31)'. When I try to update the driver, 'Best driver already installed' comes up.

The option to rollback driver is greyed out. A previous suggestion was to disable it in Dev Mgr and disable IPv6 in Network Connections. However, when I did this, both IE-7 and Windows Mail got a little flaky with some random errors and slow connections.

Re-enabled IPv6 and both IE and Mail appear normal. Even tried removing driver but Windows recreates it on next boot with same error in Dev Mgr. Coz, DV 6000s are known to have this issue. Specially NBs manufactured with IntelPro and BroadCom Wireless Cards. I can tell you this coz, I am an Hewlett Packerd Employee. So If u see the card not to be there, immidiately call your support line. Coz Its definately HW issue. I had the 'Access Local Only' problem on my system too. Now here are a few things u can try after instaling and uninstalling every things. Go to the Link. It's not exclusive to the HP, my Acer Travelmate 5520 suddenly dropped it's connection the other day. I found that once the connection is up, it's ok, but God forgive you if you turn your comp off or let it go into standby. After trying MS, Acer and O2 (my service provider) diagnostics I resorted to a complete rebuild. It hadn't dawned on me to look at the device manager, d'oh!

Having done all that, I finally got round to the device manager and there were 2 instances of ISATAP 6.060xxxx Disabling didn't work, uninstalling worked after a reboot - once! Looking across numerous forums it seems it's widespread across many makes and models. I've also read that ver 6.050xxx works, but all the download sites I've tried won't download or shove me back to the MS download centre, which in turn only has papers about implementation.

With my dell laptop I went to At&T and asked them all they could tell me was to do an uninstall and reinstall of my wireless driver which i did and did not help. Any time I get thrown offline I cannot reconnect if the local only icon is on I have to completely shutdown and reboot to get back online But Im glad I came here first cuz i was going to try an uninstall and download a new driver thinking it was not operating correctly which it says it is not. Maybe hopefully someone can tell me how to correct this issue it is highly annoying! But I love my go anywhere wireless so that is not an option I will not be stationary.

I have the same issue. Not only is the Microsoft ISATAP adapter showing an exclamation mark, but so is everything under Network Adapters (except for Bluetooth Device and NVIDIA Network controller). I also noticed that the Broadcom 4321AG wi-fi adapter is missing from Device Manager, but I do see it on the Add/Remove programs application, so I'm guessing it is still installed. However, once the exclamation marks appeared, which was today, my wireless connection got lost. I tried Search for Wireless Networks on Networks and Sharing, but got nothing, just Bluetooth.

I cannot connect via WiFi at all; I can only access the internet by ethernet cable. I also have an HP laptop in which this is taking place; mine is a Pavilion TX 2110. I have had it for a year, and this had never happened to me. I thought it occured because earlier I was changing enabling and disabling startup programs to better the performance on my PC, but I don't recall disabling anything related to wireless or network connections, just the typical apps like AIM and MSN. I hope someone can resolve this or try to help and not say 'Ignore the problem' because I can't in my case. I have similar issue as paopao89's for the ethernet connection. The internet connection is lost.

The device status of the 'Microsoft ISATAP Adapter #2 Properties' says: 'This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31)' Before the problem happened, I did disabling some programs from Startup and removed some applications from my PC. I did not touch network connection either. The PC worked fine after the program removals and PC reboot yesterday. But this morning the problem of no network connection happened. Since then, I tried to do 'System Restore' to the previous checkpoint. But the restore is always partial unsuccessful for 'unknown' reason, and the necwork connection is not there.
