The UF400e is an add-in IEEE1394 'FireWire' input/output module for the CME UF-Series range of USB MIDI keyboard controllers, supporting 192 kHz/24-bit recording and playback. The functionality is similar to that of the Terratec Phase24 range of audio/MIDI interfaces and features a BridgeCo chipset, which supports both older and newer Macs and PCs, as well as Linux-based devices via the Free FireWire Audio Driver (FFADO). The drivers and monitor mixer panel are derived from the Terratec Producer series, with solid performance and sub-128 sample latency! I've used this in the past, mounted within a CME UF5 MIDI keyboard controller (as well as a later-model UF70), along with an older G4-based Mac mini as well as a MacBook Pro with Retina display. Item includes original box; manual and drivers for Windows and OS X are available online from CME (or, for Linux, from the FFADO site).
Now, with the v2 series, including the UF-80, CME has created the first keyboards with built-in wireless MIDI. Thanks to the innovative WIDI-XU wireless MIDI interface (included), which works with both Macs and PCs, the CME UF-80 controller keyboard gives you 262 feet worth of wireless freedom—perfect for performances.
