Make sure only to use the corresponding firmware, depending on the hardware you are using! WARNING: NEVER TURN OFF YOUR UNIT DURING THE FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCEDURE. THIS MAY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE.

I recently bought a Armor Network Drive HDD Enclosure () and put an 80G Seagate into it. The instructions say it must be fat32 and it works with Win 98, NT, 200 and XP. I've put it on my network and it works great with the 3 XP machines - but with Vista Home Premium!!!!!! It will access the first directory level (Public) and any files there, but it won't (can't) open any folders below that.

When I do try to access one of those folders it takes about 5 minutes before it says it can't access the folder, then the XP machines lose access. If I switch off the drive then restart the XP machines I regain access. I can access the drive on the Vista machine with a USB cable, but the network access then won't work. Any suggestions as to what I could try to access the drive from Vista? Normal networking between the Vista and the XP machines works fine.

I recently took delivery of one of these and get the same results with Vista. Using FTP and setting up a shortcut in windows explorer works OK although it seems a step too far for settings a path in Vista Backup and Restore Centre. Seismic interpretation software. I have updated the firmware and now working with Vista. Is the site from where I purchased my unit via their Ebay shop. On that page is a link to the manual, within that manual is an alternate link for firmware updates. However the manual includes an image for a different enclosure housing so I emailed the company and they confirmed that the update link is compatible. The download is available.
